A good and a bad

First the bad, because...for once...it's not THAT bad. (At least not for me, lol!)

Over the weekend Patrick broke a tooth. He went to the dentist this morning, and it's a wisdom tooth. In order to save it he'd need root canal, and a crown, etc. I told him that LOTS of people survive just fine without wisdom teeth, and it'd be a whole lot less pain and hecking around for him if they'd just pull it. So he's having it pulled on Wednesday morning.

Now for the good:

Shannon brought home her lastest STAR (Diagnostic Reading Test) Report today. It says, and I quote: This student's Grade Equivalent score is 12.9+. His or her reading skills are therefore comparable to those of an average post-high school student. Shannon also achieved a national Percentile Rank of 99.

She is in FOURTH grade. Her reading has always been scary/amazing, and she scored this level last time too, but we thought it must've been a fluke or something since her previous test was at like level 10.4 or so. I guess not! Atta girl!
